Last fall, I held my first ever wedding workshop. It was a great experience. I enjoyed the process of planning, designing, and teaching this course. We had a great group of photographers attend and I was so excited to be able to share my wedding workflow with everyone. We covered everything a photographer would encounter during a typical wedding. Getting ready, details, posing the couple and the reception. We talked about shooting in good light, bad light, and no light. We played with strobes and had such a great sunset to work with. Taylor and Greg were the perfect models, and two of my favorite people. I really could not have asked for a better experience and I am really looking forward to the next workshop coming soon! I am so beyond excited to share this wedding with everyone! This wedding had it ALL! Not only did it take place on New Year's Eve (the most FUN night of the year), it was filled with fantastic design elements, a great live band, one of the most amazing wedding venues in the world, and fun and gorgeous couple completely rocking their dress and tux. Ashlynn is such a sweet and kind bride. She really loves to have fun and laugh. This made for a perfect atmosphere for their late night party, ringing in the new year with their closest friends and family. They put a lot of focus on just enjoying the day and treating their guests to great food, music, and some seriosly delicious cake pops! Tim & Ashlynn have known eachother for a very long time, and their relationship grew over many years, with Tim set on the idea that one day, he and Ashlynn would be together. You can tell by his smile and the way they look at one another, they know it was worth the wait and they've found true and honest love! Enjoy the photos from their day and catch a glimpse at real love! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out Ashlynn & Tim's wedding! I hope you enjoyed reading all about them and checking out their photos. Make sure to keep checking back for the latest weddings, and feel free to share and comment!

Laura & Taylor's High Point Country Club wedding was a truly memorable day. With no detail overlooked, and every element expertly designed and executed, it was a very classy event that I, and I'm sure all of their guests, will not forget. Laura, Taylor, and their families were all such a true joy to be around and work with and I'm excited to share their wedding story through their photos.
This wedding was truly something special. I really could not have asked for a sweeter couple, better flowers, or a better venue. This was so beyond perfect, and because of Laura's calm and sweet nature, the day flowed so perfectly. I love when my brides tell me "whatever you think is best, I trust you". That is like music to my ears and it tells me I can really put myself into my work and be more creative. This was a dream wedding for me. Relish Design Co handles the design and planning for this wedding like magic. Those FLOWERS!!! I mean, WOW! I was sooo in love with those flowers! Every moment of the day was expertly planned and coordinated so that it had the perfect balance of being on schedule so that guests were never waiting, and free and easy enough so that it didn't feel rushed or too structured. We were even blessed with the most amazingly perfect timing on our little sprinkle of rain. It stopped right before Laura walked down the aisle and didn't start again until less than a minute after they kissed and made their exit. How often can anyone say they were that lucky?! So here are the photos from this perfect event. Check them out and show them some blog love in the comments section!

Rachel & Austin were married April, 2015 in gorgeous Charleston SC. Every single detail of this event was so well thought out and came together for the most perfect balance of polished glamour, and easy southern charm. From rustic cotton docks with chandeliers, to the moonshine wedding favors, and a unbelievably gorgeous bride & handsome groom, I could not have asked for a better wedding to have the honor of photographing. And Rachel and Austin were two of the kindest and most easy to work with people I have ever had the pleasure of working for. I am so excited to share this wedding with the world so that everyone can see what a perfect wedding looks like!Getting Ready Location: Restoration on KingCeremony/Reception Location: Boone Hall PlantationWedding Planner/Designer: OOH EventsVideographer: Life in RewindCatering: Cru CateringCake: Ashley BakeryDishware: Polished Tabletop
I am very excited to introduce the Spring 2015 intern, Sean! Sean is full of energy and has made a wondrful addition to the team. As a fun way to introduce him to the world, we took to the streets and alleys of Downtown Greensboro for an unbelievably fun photo shoot. Sean kept me laughing histerically with his shenanigans. Truly a shoot to remember. Check out the photos and a bit of introduction from Sean himself and show him some blog comment love. A few word from Sean: "My name is Sean Szitas and I am from Greensboro, North Carolina. I am so excited to be interning with Aura because we’ve known each other for a few years beforehand and she’s one talented photographer and awesome person! Photography became a creative outlet for me through high school until my senior year when I shifted over to portraits and realized how much I loved doing it. Since then it’s been amazing to see how much there is to learn and discover about photography. I attend Randolph Community College in Asheboro which has a great photography program. I hope to relocate further south after graduating in July from college and starting a high fashion wedding / portrait business." Welcome, Sean! It's gonna be a fantastic wedding season!
Cortney & Jon had such a lovely winter wedding at the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro. The Proximity is such an amazing and unique wedding venue, and is always one of my very favorites. It complimented their style so well. Lots of great food, and dancing and many wonderful memories from this day. Here are a few of my personal favorite moments.
